OPERATION
The DRST board controls automatically the starting and stopping of a diesel generator. Following is a detailed description of its functions:
1. The Remote Control input (terminal 6) receives a start signal.
2. No action is taken until the delay set by Response is elapsed.
3. A starting sequence of three to four attempts will initiate.
4. The Electric Valve (terminal 4) engages about 0.5sec before the Starter (terminal 5).
5. If the start signal is removed before the engine starts, all timers are reset and the board is ready for a new sequence.
6. Cranking is disconnected when either a voltage exceeding 150vac appears between the Line and Neutral inputs (terminals 1 and 2) or a voltage exceeding 10vdc appears on the Dynamo input (terminal 3).
7. If the engine fails to start after 3-4 attempts, the FAULT led lights and the Alarm relay engages. To clear this condition, the DRST should be reset by disconnecting its supply voltage (Terminal 7).
8. When the start signal is removed, the DRST will shut down the engine after the elapse of the Cooling time.
9. If the engine shuts down due to a fault, the DRST will signal this condition by the led labeled FAULT and by engaging the Alarm relay. The output Electric Valve remains engaged to allow the user to read the cause of the shut down on the protection board. The DRST is reset by disconnecting its supply voltage (Terminal 7).
